Japan’s student visa program is designed for individuals who wish to enroll in educational institutions, such as language schools, universities, or vocational schools. This visa permits you to stay in Japan for the duration of your study program, which can range from a few months to several years, depending on the course length.

Key Benefits of Applying Japan Student Visa:

  • Level-up Language Level: You’ll have the opportunity to practice and improve your Japanese language skills in real-life situations, enhancing your fluency and understanding of cultural nuances.

  • Part-Time Work Opportunities & Work Experience: The student visa allows you to work part-time (up to 28 hours per week during term time and up to 40 hours per week during school vacations), which can help cover living expenses and provide practical experience and help you build connections in Japan.

  • Securing Work Permits to Work Full-time: Graduates can seek full-time employment with Japanese companies in various sectors, including technology, finance, marketing, education, and more. Most of our partner schools in Japan provide working visa conversion even before graduation.

How to Apply for a Student Visa

Step 1:
Assessment

Check if you are qualified. There are several considerations before you can proceed to your Student Visa Application. You can book a FREE assessment with our Program Specialist here

Step 2:
Choose the right School

Applicants have wide options for language schools. At Hikari, we've partnered with multiple trusted language schools in Japan that have achieved Class A status, which translates to a greater possibility of our students passing their applications with fewer documents needed.

Step 3: Interview

At Hikari, we provide interview preparation to help applicants prepare for their upcoming interviews with their chosen language school. Our mock interviews are designed to simulate the actual interview experience and provide valuable feedback to help applicants improve their performance. Contact us today to schedule a mock interview and increase your chances of success. Our Program Specialist and Language Head conduct mock interviews.

Step 4: Documentation

During the documentation process, our team ensures that all necessary documents are collected and reviewed thoroughly. We also provide guidance and support to our clients throughout the process to ensure that requirements are met. Our team's high success rate is a testament to our commitment to providing efficient and effective documentation services.

Step 5: Receive Your Certificate of Eligibility (COE)

After completing the necessary documentation, we will need to submit all the required documents to the Japan Immigration office. The processing time for the application is approximately three months, during which the immigration office will review the documents and determine the applicant's eligibility for the Certificate of Eligibility.

Step 6: Visa Application

After obtaining the Certificate of Eligibility (COE), the next step is to get a visa. Instead of the applicant, we will do the application to the Japan Consulate or Embassy here in the Philippines.
